One thing to know about New York is that natives can immediately tell if you’re a tourist. Asking a stranger a question of any kind is an immediate giveaway that you’re not from the city. Talking to strangers in a friendly manner is, frankly, weird. It puts people immediately on guard, like this lady who found a man’s question extremely suspicious.

This guy innocently asked her for the time, and instead of answering and continuing on with her day, she decided to shut him down. For some reason, she assumed he was trying to hit on her. As it turns out, he actually just literally needed to know what time it was. He shared the fact that he was engaged to make his point and get the last word in. Boom, roasted.
