#32: Aspen, Colorado
Aspen has a glamorous reputation built around skiing, mountain views, luxury hotels, designer shopping, fine dining, and celebrity sightings. For travelers who picture a polished Colorado escape, it can seem like the ultimate mountain resort town, especially in winter when the slopes and snowy scenery look postcard-perfect.

That luxury comes at a steep price. Hotels, restaurants, lift tickets, parking, and even casual outings can feel extremely expensive, and the elite atmosphere is not always welcoming to budget-minded travelers. For a more relaxed Colorado mountain trip, Glenwood Springs or Steamboat Springs may be better choices.
