Katharine Ross: Fame, Five Marriages, and Her Lasting Love With Sam Elliott

She starred as photographer Joanna Eberhart in the 1975 adaptation of Ira Levin’s The Stepford Wives. Joanna moves with her family to a seemingly perfect Connecticut community where the wives behave with unsettling obedience.

As she investigates, Joanna begins to suspect that the town’s women are being replaced by artificial copies designed to please their husbands. The disturbing role would soon demand more from Ross than dialogue alone.
