The Life of All-American Actor Kevin Costner

Costner graduated from California State University, Fullerton, in 1978 with a business-related degree. At that point, his life seemed to be moving toward a practical career, not the risky world of acting. He was not yet the kind of person Hollywood was building movies around.

Near the end of college, though, acting became harder for him to ignore. He started imagining a different future, one that did not follow the stable path he had prepared for, and that choice soon began reshaping everything around him.
