The Life of All-American Actor Kevin Costner

In 1997, he directed, produced, and starred in The Postman, a post-apocalyptic adventure with strong Western-like themes. The film imagined a broken future America where symbols, myths, and old forms of honor still mattered, which fit many of the ideas Costner had explored before.

A skilled equestrian, he did his own riding in the film, adding physical credibility to the role. He even performed a cable-cart stunt himself, showing again that he liked to be hands-on with ambitious projects, though ambition alone would not protect this one.
