#15: Florida
Jobs Gained: 5.9%
Jobs Lost: 6.0%
Florida had lots of job movement, even though losses slightly edged out gains. New jobs often come from tourism, restaurants, health care, construction, real estate, transportation, and services tied to the state’s growing population.

But Florida also loses jobs when tourism slows, housing cools, storms disrupt businesses, or seasonal employers cut back. Some companies also struggle with rising insurance, rent, and labor costs. So while Florida still creates plenty of work, the losses were just a little higher here.
