#20: Pennsylvania
Jobs Gained: 5.0%
Jobs Lost: 5.2%
Pennsylvania had a slower-moving job market, with job losses slightly ahead of gains. New jobs can come from health care, education, logistics, energy, manufacturing, finance, and the business activity around Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and other regional hubs.

But some jobs are disappearing as older industries change, companies cut costs, and smaller towns deal with slower growth. High operating costs in some areas can also pressure businesses. Pennsylvania still has a large economy, but this quarter leaned a little negative.
