#2: Taco Trucks in New York City
New York is famous for pizza slices, bagels, hot dogs, and deli sandwiches, so finding great taco trucks around the city can catch visitors off guard. It is not always the first place people associate with Mexican street food, especially if they picture tacos as more of a California, Texas, or Southwest thing.

Street food has been part of New York for generations, from pushcarts to halal carts to food trucks. Taco trucks grew with the city’s immigrant communities and changing food scene, especially as Mexican and Latin American food became more visible. In a city built on quick meals, sidewalks, and movement, they fit right in.
